$ codemeld --about

CodeMeld

CodeMeld is an agentic code editor for your terminal. It works with OpenRouter, Venice or your ChatGPT plan, with any version control, and you stay in control of what it is allowed to do.

## What sets it apart

providers

Your choice of provider

Use models through OpenRouter, Venice or your ChatGPT plan. If a provider blocks you, raises prices or goes down, switch and keep working.

openrouter

Smarter OpenRouter routing

Pick the fastest or the cheapest providers for each model, cap the price, choose the quantization level, and skip providers that collect your data.

cost

Know what a session costs

See what each session has cost, as your provider reports it, and how full the model's context is, with a warning before it runs out.

vcs

Any version control

Git, Mercurial and Jujutsu work out of the box. You can add any other version control system yourself, without waiting for a new release.

approvals

Permissions that respect your time

Approve a command once and it stays approved where you gave it, for as long as you choose. On Linux, a sandbox lets routine work run without asking. There is no approve-everything mode.

network

Zero phone-home

No telemetry, analytics, crash reports or update checks. CodeMeld connects only to the provider you choose and the websites you approve.

install

One binary, nothing else to install

No runtime, package manager or container to set up. It runs on Linux today, with FreeBSD and macOS planned.

files

Open, readable files

Your settings, approvals and session history are kept in plain files you can read, so you can check what you have allowed and what was said.
